BIO 220 Conservation Biology
Course Description
This course focuses on the ecology of conserving biodiversity and includes species, population, and ecosystem-level issues. Topics such as biodiversity, extinction, sustained yield, exotic species, and preserve design will be covered. Management implications are integrated throughout the course. Labs emphasize ecosystems and conservation problems of southern Minnesota. Prerequisite: at least one of the following courses: BIO-110/111, ENV-120/121, or GEO-120/121. Must be declared major in BIO or ES. Co-requisite BIO-221. Cross-listed as ENV-220. WRITL, Fall semester.
