B/E 384 Int'l Trade & Finance

Course Description

This course provides fundamentals of international trade and finance theories and applies the theories to recent events and policy debates. Topics include trade theories, globalization, exchange rate determinants and regimes, balance of payments, and international monetary systems. A series of historical financial crises, such as European Sovereign Debt crisis and currency crisis in developing countries, will be discussed as well. Emphasis will be on understanding the impacts of monetary, fiscal, and trade policy as well as international cooperation in a global community. Prerequisites: B/E-107 or E/M-108 and E/M-109, MCS-142, and MCS-119 or MCS-121. Spring semester, even years.
