Course Description

Students examine how the arts drove technical innovation and scientific milestones throughout the Atlantic world. A global survey of art, material culture, and architecture from 1500-1900 CE. Artists and art works from West African, Caribbean, Latin American, European, and Indigenous American traditions are included. GLAFC, Fall semester, even years.
