CHE 250 Environmental Chemistry

Course Description

This course is an introduction to the field of environmental chemistry. Topics covered include water chemistry, the chemistry of global warming, stratospheric ozone depletion, smog formation, chemical speciation in natural waters, and pollutant fate and transport. In addition, the course will examine current energy sources, alternative energy, and related environmental impacts. Prerequisite: CHE-107/108 or CHE-110/111. Concurrent enrollment with CHE-241 required (lecture-only enrollment requires instructor permission). Spring semester.
