BIO 345 ST: Ornithology LAB
Course Description
ST: Ornithology LAB.This course explores the evolution, taxonomy, morphology, specialized physiology, ecology, behavior, and current conservation challenges of birds worldwide through considerations of the topics, such as evolution of flight and feathers, pigments and structural color, nesting behavior, migration and navigation. Lab will explore applied ornithology in both laboratory and field settings. Students will learn about birdwatching and identification in the field, participate in the scientific method by conducting original research and reporting findings, gain skills in understanding and visualizing data, and explore field research and sampling techniques. Concurrent enrollment with a corresponding lecture is required.
