Coaching Minor

The Coaching minor produces graduates to coach in a variety of sites, including schools, public agencies, colleges or universities, and youth organizations. The curriculum prepares students to thoughtfully administer, plan, instruct, and assess their work to effect change in student-athletes and sport programs. The Coaching minor meets the National Standards for Sport Coaches by the Society for Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE). This minor is an excellent addition for students majoring in education or students majoring in other fields who would like to work with sports beyond their professional field.
